PRESS RELEASE

Issued: 14February 2012

For Immediate release

Pitch your Project at SE-Village and Win Peckham Pounds!

SE-Village is having a Big Celebration on 24th February where local people will be able to pitch their project idea to the audience in their first crowd funding event! SE-Village is run by  local charity The Peckham Settlement on Goldsmiths Road. The programme offers an opportunity for people in Peckham to set up their own projects in a low risk, low cost space. Anyone with a great idea for a business or enterprise, social club or group can get support and advice from the team at SE-Village, and there are some workshops coming up too.

With over 17 projects and clubs already set up at SE-Village, there’s something for everyone to come along to and get involved with! There’s a knitting group on Tuesdays 1-3pm, and a Samba Fusion Class 7.30-8.30pm, both run by local Peckham residents. For families with children there are several after-school and tutoring sessions available as well as singing or French for babies. So whether you want to get involved in a community choir or learn how to design balloons, SE-Village has something to keep you entertained!

On 24thFebruary all the SE-Village projects, their friends, families, neighbours, and people in Peckham are invited to a crowd funding event. Each of the projects will be able to pitch their idea to the crowd, and the project with the most votes will win Peckham Pounds! Peckham Pounds are an alternative currency based on volunteer hours which are being launched by SE-Village. We’ll also have entertainment by the fantastic blind pianist Peter Caesar!
